When I hear "December" I usually think of hot cocoa, Christmas music, and big cozy blankets to keep us all warm. This year, however, I can't help but think of the 74 terrorist attacks that have happened just this month alone.
The news stations around the US have only mentioned one or two of these attacks. I get it, how can one station mention 3-4 attacks a day when some only killed one or two people? Although, eleven of those attacks were suicide bombers in the Middle East killing well over 300 people. Some of you readers may not be phased by that, but that "number" are family members and friends, and that is not to be discounted just because it is in the Middle East. One of these bombings were actually held by a group of Middle Eastern Women, not men. It didn't kill nearly as many people as some other bombings did, but it is the only attack that was made by a group of women aimed towards soilders. No one knows, or understands, why they created this attack. Reading articles on these attacks have blown my mind because there is so many, yet there are still so many not mentioned. Thailand, for example, had a bombing on December first. No one heard about this because only one man was killed; but that is still one brother, father, son, and friend that someone is missing terribly this holiday season. There are many, many more that I wish I could cover, but this blog would then never end. I suppose that is why most of these attacks are still not mentioned in the news. Though, if you wish to read short summaries of each attack, please see the Wikipedia page here. Until next time, readers. If you are in any of the countries that have experienced bombings, please stay safe. I am praying for your saftey and strength this dredful holiday season.
